The structure which is now the Madison Post Road Bed & Breakfast was originally a farmhouse built by Jedediah Field in 1820. Today, it has 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 4 bay windows, 3 fireplaces, a living room, dining room, family room and kitchen. Its location in a New England town near the beach and midway between New York City and Boston makes it ideal for commuters and tourists. The unique architectural features of the house is a portico - a 2nd floor bedroom that extends over the driveway and is supported by columns. Inside, there is a comfortable, pleasing environment - a composite of an interesting floor plan, tasteful color scheme, good maintenance and attractive furnishings.

    From Hartford Airport- Go South on I-91 to New Haven, Northeast on I-95 to Exit 59. Right off of exit ramp, left onto Rte 1 (Boston Post Road) for approximately 2.5 miles to No. 318 on the right. From Providence Airport- Go South on I-95 to Exit 60. Left on Maugerston Road, left on Rte 1 for 1/4 mile to No. 318 on the right. The Madison Post Road Bed and Breakfast is in a town that is on the Long Island Sound and has major highways and railroads passing through it to New Haven, New York City and Boston.
