The Marriott New Orleans is temporarily closed due to Hurricane Katrina and will remain closed until local authorities advise they may reopen. Efforts are being made to contact customers with future reservations. Cancellation fees for individual (non-group) bookings at hotels directly affected by the hurricane or in areas experiencing mandatory evacuations are being waived for arrivals through October 1 2005. The convention center and trade mart are a few blocks away, making a rental car unnecessary. This highrise convention hotel is composed of two towers with rooms beginning on the fifth floor of each and an outdoor heated pool located between the towers. Very limited garage parking is available with in/out privileges at USD 30 per night valet service only; no oversized or sport utility vehicles.
